Built for the Entire Season

Honest John's Sports is a modern, web-based private pool platform with one player account, one password, and a central Game Portal that gives each player access to the games and pools they choose.

Pick'em combines NFL and college football games with automatic score updates, grading, weekly recaps, player profiles, league history, payout tracking, betting lines, over/under totals, and the Saturday-noon Eastern lock for the main weekend slate. Suicide Pool adds NFL-only elimination play with one or two independent spots, team-use tracking, individual game locks, automated reminders, grading, and commissioner controls. The Game Portal lets players join, decline, change their mind before the season or pool starts, and move between active games during the week.

Built to Run While the Games Are Live

Version 2.2 adds a dedicated game-day automation system designed to keep Honest John's Sports moving without constant commissioner intervention.

1-Minute Score Updates

NFL and selected college football scores are checked every minute during production operation so the site stays as current as the available game data.

Automatic Pick Grading

When games become final, submitted Pick'em selections are graded automatically and standings data is updated from completed results.

Pick'em Reminders

The system checks every five minutes for the one-hour and 15-minute reminder windows and emails only players whose weekly picks or tiebreaker are incomplete.

Suicide Pool Reminders

Each active Suicide Pool spot is monitored independently for missing picks, including one-hour and 15-minute warnings before applicable NFL lock times.

Hourly Safety Sweep

The full Automation Tick continues to run hourly as a system-wide safety net for lines, locks, scoring, grading, reminders, finalizers, and weekly progression.

System Health Monitoring

The Commissioner Dashboard tracks automation activity so failed, waiting, warning, and successful system jobs can be reviewed quickly.

Version 2.2 focuses on reliability and game-day automation. The platform now separates high-frequency live scoring from reminder and system-level automation so each workflow can run at the cadence it actually needs.

Live Score Engine

A dedicated secured production job checks game scores every minute so NFL and selected college games remain current throughout game day.

Pick'em Reminder Engine

Missing weekly picks and tiebreakers are checked every five minutes with one-hour and 15-minute reminder windows and duplicate-send protection.

Suicide Pool Reminder Engine

Missing Suicide Pool selections are checked every five minutes with lock-specific reminders, Sunday deadline protection, and independent tracking for each spot.

Hourly Automation

The full Automation Tick remains active as a safety sweep for betting lines, locking, scoring, grading, Survivor processing, finalizers, and week advancement.

Automatic Grading

Final games update pick results automatically, while the full week remains protected from final grading until all active games are complete.

Automation Monitor

Commissioner system health shows the latest automation activity, warnings, errors, successful runs, and pending weekly processes.

One Honest John's Sports login continues to provide a central hub for Pick'em, Suicide Pool, and future competitions.
